Viton
VITON®
Denver Rubber Company holds an extensive inventory of Viton Rubber, known as fluoroelastomer rubber, a brand of synthetic rubber and fluoropolymer elastomer commonly used in O-rings and other molded or extruded goods. The name is a registered trademark of DuPont Performance Elastomers L.L.C. Categorized under the ASTM D1418 and ISO 1629 designation of FKM. This class of elastomers is a family comprising copolymers of hexafluoropropylene (HFP) and vinylidene fluoride (VDF or VF2), terpolymers of tetrafluoroethylene (TFE), vinylidene fluoride (VDF) and hexafluoropropylene (HFP) as well as perfluoromethylvinylether (PMVE) containing specialties. The fluorine content of the most common Viton grades varies between 66% and 70%.

Store in a relaxed condition free from tension, compression or other deformation.
TYPES OF VITON RUBBER
COMMERCIAL VITON
Made with a smooth or Nylon Fabric finish, this material offers a range of resistances from oils, fuels, lubricants, mineral acids, oxidation, and weather to fungus and mold. This Viton material has great resistance to many aliphatic hydrocarbon fluids acting as solvents and exceptional compression set attributes at temperatures from -20°F to +400°F that embrittle other non-fluorinated elastomers.

MIL-SPEC VITON
Approved for the Military and Defense Industries, this grade of Viton is made with 100% virgin fluoroelastomer that meets the highest-grade standards. Able to withstand extreme environmental changes and protect against temperature ranges from -20°F to +500°F, this versatile rubber comes with a smooth or Nylon Fabric finish.

Approved for food and lab applications, this material is made with 100% virgin Viton and offers good chemical resistance, high-temperature properties and resistance to corrosives. PREMIUM VITON B
This material is a 68% Fluorine grade with greater resistance and flexibility retention after dry-heat aging than Viton A. This rubber offers superior resistance to diluted and concentrated aggressive acids. Recommended for applications stressing maximum retention of elasticity and mechanical properties.

APPLICATIONS
For harsh, high-temperature environments. Gaskets made of Viton are often used with lubricating and fuel oils, hydraulic oil, gasoline, kerosence, vegetable oils, alcohols and diluted acids.
